All-Natural

Have you ever been in the bathroom and needing to pass the time, picked up a nearby bottle and read the ingredients? I've done this for years and have come to realize that I hardly recognize a thing going into my products...

ANTI-BACTERIAL HANDSOAP FROM B&B:
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Fragrance, Lauryl Glycol Ether, Disodium Laureth Sulfoccinate, Magnifera Indico (Mango) Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract,Honey Extract, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Cocomidopropylamine Oxide....there is more but this is hurting my eyes.

DOVE DAMAGE THERAPY SHAMPOO:
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, Glycol Distearate, Soduim Cloride, Dimethiconol, Glycerin, Carbomer, Guear Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chlorede, TEA-Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, PPG-9, Tetrasodimu EDTA, TEA-Sulfate, Glucconalactone, Adipic Acid, Sodium Sulfate, Trehalose, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Mica, Titanium Diozide, Yellow 5, Blue 1

DOVE DAMAGE THERAPY CONDITIONER:
Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethiconol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylaminlene, Grgrance, Behentronium Chloride, Dipropylene Glycol, Potassium Chloride, Lactic Acid, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, TEA-Dodecylbenzene-sulfate, PEG-150 Distearate, Gluconolactone, Adipic Acide, Sodium Sulfate, Trehalose, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Yellow 5, Blue 1

These are products chemicals that we are using to clean our hands. These products chemicals go into our scalp! Do YOU know what is going into your scalp? I don't and that worries me...it worries me even more to think of all the babies being washed with these products chemicals when their mothers probably can't even pronounce half of the ingredients.

I am not okay with this. I have heard of people who stopped washing their hair and it's healthier than ever. People converting to "dry washing." I don't consider myself a health nut but I am not okay with what is going into my body. Do any of you use any "all-natural" shampoo products or face cleansers? I would love to get your feedback on this.

Rood People Are Rood.

I think I am just meant to live alone.

I am so tired of living here. Tired of the people and the mess and the laziness.

Dishes are still in the dishwasher, needing to be unloaded from LAST WEDNESDAY. There is no room in the freezer for anything. I understand it's a small freezer and four girls are trying to force their frozen goods in their but the problem is things are sitting in there and not being eaten, so there is no room for new things when those who DO eat their food need to replenish it.
I have gone through the fridge on several occasions and had to throw out moldy food.

The other day, my roommate (see, they're not even friends, just roommates) came into my room to see what I had written on my mirror. Back at home, my room was COVERED in writing. Notes from friends, feelings, mostly catchy song lyrics. I am just a writer. Give me a marker and I go crazy.
"You are Beautiful and Capable and Loved."-a slogan coined by Shantel VanSanten. It reminds me of my own self worth, because we all have those days when nothing goes right, but at least this fact remains.
"TLA"-True Love Always, as seen in my favorite show, One Tree Hill. I've been thinking about my future husband a lot lately, and realizing how my decisions affect him and our marriage (even at this age of nineteen.) I put this as a reminder to think about that True Love and help me remain celibate.
"The amount of love in your heart is not measured by your waistline."-scroll back a few posts and you will see why Team True Beauty means so much to me. I struggled with a slight eating disorder over six months ago, and again my mother is making the same remarks. I have learned to tell her "Mom, just because I've gained weight doesn't change who I am. I am still a GOOD person and everyone can see that." It's been empowering to be able to talk like that and this reminds me that I AM  a good person, good friend, good family member. My weight doesn't determine that.
"Let it GO" A line from Linkin Park's "Iridescent" and Rob Thomas' "Little Wonders". Let the negative energy go. Let go of the struggles, and the grief, and the pain and anger...just let it go.
"There will always be later for that." From one of my all time favorite songs "Matching Weight" by Trespassers William. There will be more time to worry and be angry and sad and whatever. This is the NOW. Live in it to the best of your ability.

How can anyone make a mockery of such positive messages? Granted, they don't know what the messages are (although the amount of love one is pretty obvious). The roommate laughed at them. When she laughed at the amount of love one, I asked her what was so funny. She replied with an, "I dunno, it's just funny."
"Well I don't think so," I countered.
"You're special," she said, and this was not a compliment. By now, I was fuming, so I just replied with a short "Okay" and walked out after her.

I kind of feel like I am overreacting but...I share an apartment with three other girls. We gather in the living room, cook in the kitchen, and call dibs on laundry. My room is MINE. I don't have to share. I don't have to keep it clean ( but I do.) Don't come in here, ruining MY space, taking it's sacredness and making a joke out of it. This is my home away from home. If you wouldn't walk into someone's home saying things like that, don't walk into my room saying things like that.

UGH.

Roommates

Ah, college life. During lunches, you can always overhear students talking about how dumb the boys are, how hard the classes are, how broke they are, and what annoying things their roommate did this week.

Oh, lucky college students living the dorm life. At my school, you can have a single room, a double room, or a triple room. So the most roommates you can have is two.

I live in a 4x4 apartment, so I live with three girls. Oy.

I don't feel like doing a big long update right now,  but let's just say. I'm tired of my roommates. I think I'll spend some extra time in the library.

Three Cool Things!

So, while you bear with me patiently as I work on my site, I thought I'd give you something fun to read.
Introducing, the Three Cool Things segment!

lark
Lark is an online shop, opened by One Tree Hill's Bethany "Joy" Galeotti. Between filming for season nine, being a mom, wife, and #LoveWarrior, Joy has opened an online boutique that will be expanding sometime in the next few months. Right now, it's just a preview and so there is only a few items available for purchase. Each shirt was designed exclusively by Joy, and proceeds from each purchase benefit a different organization. I recently bought the JOIE DE LA LECTURE shirt and I love it! I plan on buying the other two shirts since merchandise is currently 50% off!

HE
Forget who gets to keep the ring - when a couple splits the real question is, who gets to keep the friends?
Happy Endings is an ABC comedy that started this spring. This show is hilarious, and the twelve 30-minute episodes are simply not enough for me. You can catch episodes 2-7 on Hulu, and Happy Endings will return September 28 for it's second season!

Last on the list is-TAX FREE WEEKEND. It's coming up in two weeks and who doesn't love clothes and school supplies without tax! Make sure you stock up on what you need before school starts!
